Pop sensation Taylor Swift seems to have lost some of her followers after endorsing Governor Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris last month. A new YouGov post-debate poll, released on Saturday, according to the New York Post, revealed that 8% of voters felt that the pop star’s endorsement would make them vote Democrat somewhat or much more likely.
Nevertheless, according to the Post, in response to Swift’s recent remarks, 20 percent of respondents said they are somewhat or much less likely to vote for former President Donald Trump’s opponent. However, the majority of participants—66 percent—said that her support for Harris/Walz had no bearing on them. Harris is a steady-handed, gifted leader, according to her, who could maintain calm and not chaos under her direction.

A slight majority of participants in the online survey (32%), however, expressed confidence that Swift’s endorsement will benefit Harris’ campaign, while 27% expressed no opinion. A fresh review of recent polling data indicates that there has been an underperformance among young voters, which is why Harris’s campaign is desperately hoping that Swift’s endorsement will assist her.

Harry Enten, a senior data reporter for CNN, cited statistics from multiple nationwide surveys on Thursday. The surveys showed that, among voters between the ages of 18 and 29, President Joe Biden led then-President Donald Trump by 28 points in September 2020. When he withdrew his reelection bid in July, his lead in that group had slipped to just seven points. Harris’s advantage grew to 15 points after he declared her the winner, but that is still well short of Biden’s 2020 edge.
550K people in Pennsylvania and over 400K in North Carolina registered as Democrats in September 2020, and by September of this year, these figures had dropped to about 128,000 in North Carolina and 169,000 in Pennsylvania.
